We will celebrate the 'rites of spring' by and on the river, with boats afloat at their docks, a cookout, sea shanties, waterfront activities and volunteer appreciation.

THE MIGHTY MERRIMACK ROWING RACE

Lowell’s Boat Shop is pleased to announce the revival of The Mighty Merrimack Rowing Race, a three and a half-mile course on the Merrimack River from Lowell’s Boat Shop in Amesbury to the central waterfront in Newburyport harbor. The Race is geared for experienced rowers and is open to all fixed-seat boats, kayaks and recreational (ocean) shells.
 
This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Mighty Merrimack Rowing Race at Lowell’s, and an Open Waterfront Festival at the Boat Shop is being planned to celebrate the occasion. Look for coming announcements of this very special event!
