OAR MAKING with Graham McKay and Ben Loveless

Thursday March 5, 6-9 p.m.
Saturday March 7, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Tuesday March 10, 6-9 p.m.

Tuition: $185 (10% discount for members)
Limit: 10 Students

Come learn to make oars with Lowell's Boat-builders Graham McKay and Ben Loveless.

The course will cover wood selection, oar layout and patterning. Students will complete at least one oar (two if they're good!) over the duration of the course and go home with a blank for their second oar.

The course takes place at Lowell's Boat Shop, in our fully equipped classroom. Bring your tools if you have them, we have plenty if you don't.

March 16 - April 22 Monday & Wednesday nights from 5-9 p.m. for six weeks

Tuition: $750 (10% discount for members)
Limit: 8 Students

Build a 14' Rowing skiff with Jeff Lane. The class builds one boat which is raffled off at the end of the class for the cost of materials. This class is open to all skill levels, all materials and tools will be provided however students are encouraged to bring and use their own. The class will cover basic lofting, layout, wood selection, hand and power tool use, planking, fastening, etc.

We have some exciting NEW education programs coming this summer.

Lowell's Boat Shop is offering two intensive week-long boatbuilding classes this July, taught by Lowell's boat builder Jeff Lane.

We will be building an Asa Thompson skiff during the week of July 13-17, with the next class building a design yet to be determined from July 20-24. Both classes will run M-F 8-4 (occasionally later as need be).
